Introducing the Cedric Bellon CB01 TI
For the third anniversary of the Cedric Bellon Sustainable Watches brand the CB01 comes back in a very special repurposed titanium execution with vibrant dial colours. A new collab between Cedric Bellon and Watch Angels.
The CB01 Small Seconds comes back inrepurposed grade 5 titanium execution. According to the philosophy of the CB brand – which only crafts locally, in Switzerland, with locally sourced up-cycled, recycled or recyclable raw materials and components – the case, dial and buckle are machined out of small segments of titanium bars that are left over from other productions.
“My watches aim at pushing the watchmaking industry to consider working in a more virtuous way. For this, changes are needed. And possible.”
Cedric Bellon, watch designer and founder of CB watches
The CB01 Small Seconds
The CB01 small seconds was the first watch to be designed and developed for maximum sustainability. It’s circularly produced with a purposely build supply chain and a purposely optimised manufacturing system aimed at maximising material, transformation and transportation, sustainability. It was also the first watch with a sustainability certificate of its own. The new CB01 TI shares the same components, production system and movement of the CB01 small seconds, albeit machined in Titanium. The CB01 TI is a new development for the brand which aims at repurposing new materials that offer new aesthetic effects.
Sandblasted Case and Vibrant Colours
The vibrant colours of the CB01 TI vertically brushed titanium dials (matched with the colour of the small seconds hand) have been obtained by the sustainable PVD coating technique, and, in order to increase the sustainability of the process, the dials have been added to existing productions in order not to utilise dedicated machine capacity and energy.
The indigo, green, blue, orange and black titanium dials possess the signature CB light reflection characteristic whereby the colour tone changes according to the reflection of the light on the dial providing the user with a unique aesthetic experience.
The titanium grade 5 case, crown and buckle are sandblasted and the matte tool watch effect of the case highlights the dial colours to perfection.
The Movement
The CB01 encases a repurposed DD14060 small seconds Dubois Dépraz caliber which was first commissioned on an exclusive basis by another brand, of which a small stock remains. It features a small seconds module at 12 o’clock on a Sellita SW300 base.

About Cedric Bellon
Cedric Bellon was born in Nantes, France. From a young age he was fascinated by science, and throughout his academic path he explored geology, ecology and anthropology. His creative vein finally made him graduate in Product Design from the Nantes’s School of Design. At age 27, a personal health issue forced him to bed for several months. During this period, he developed a keen interest in Horology and, naively according to him, he put down a few of his watch ideas on paper and sent them to renown Brands (most of whom would initially not even reply). However, after a while, Bell & Ross and TAG Heuer became his first clients. In 2005, he founded Cedric Bellon & Partner making watch design a full-time career. Since then he has worked for many renown watch brands. He describes himself as the equivalent of a ghost writer for the Watchmaking industry. Among his clients: Longines, Bell & Ross, Hermès, Frederique Constant, Tag Heuer, Graham, Whitings, TechnoMarine, Alpina and others. He founded Cedric Bellon Sustainable Tool Watches in 2020.
