Marrakech Getaway

Holidays are coming! Morocco lifts its health restrictions due to the pandemic. Focus on our favorite Marrakech hotspots to enjoy the Indian summer!

THE HOTEL :

Le Palais Ronsard, Relais & Châteaux 5

Nestled in the heart of La Palmeraie, Palais Ronsard has been designed as a wellness destination.

With 28 suites (including 6 private pavilions, all with heated pools), the place brings a new dimension to Marrakech, becoming a refuge with the appearance of a secret garden, facing the abundant nature and the Atlas Mountains.

The restaurant carefully revisits the best of Moroccan cuisine, with a twist of Mediterranean and international influences, supplied by its own vegetable garden and masterfully led by starred chef Xavier Mathieu.

Not to mention all the areas dedicated to well-being: a fitness room, a spa, a sauna and a hammam. The Palais Ronsard shines by its attention to detail.

Designed entirely by the best Moroccan and European craftsmen, each piece of furniture and each plot of garden, has been elaborated especially for the place, irrefutable proof of the passion of its creators, Aram Ohanian and Adriana Ohanian Karembeu, for the artisanal know-how and the unique art of living in Marrakech.

RESTAURANTS :

Bô Zin

At the 3.5 kilometer mark, the Bô Zin appears, as if in the middle of nowhere. Located at the gates of Marrakech on the Ourika road, Bô Zin is one of the most festive addresses in the city that has quickly become a hotspot. The ochre walls of the enclosure give the place a mysterious character, that of an establishment protected from the glances which wakes up in the night.  You can enjoy Asian dishes and creative cocktails, all in a hushed atmosphere in an exotic garden. You get up from the table between the main course and dessert to dance to the rhythm of the percussion to accompany the musicians of the evening. Originally, a simple private villa enlarged over the years to become the favorite meeting place of Marrakech night and initiated visitors.

Le Grand Café de La Poste

True institution since the 20s, Le Grand Café de la Poste, charged with the history of the red city, belongs to Marrakech heritage.

Located in the modern district of Guéliz, outside the walls of the Medina, it was both a renowned café and a post office. It is said that Jacques Majorelle, sitting with General Lyautey, would have talked for hours about the lights and splendors of Marrakech…

Today, Le Grand Café de la Poste proudly overlooks the Place du 16 novembre. It is one of the city’s must-see addresses and has kept its original look: a Moroccan-style living space with an authentic atmosphere of mosaics, green plants, drapes, mirrors and velvet furniture…

Thought a Parisian brasserie, the restaurant’s menu is composed of traditional French dishes such as oysters or beef tartar, but also great Moroccan classics. The chef works in close collaboration with local producers in order to offer his customers tasty, seasonal and quality dishes. This place with a thousand facets welcomes is open without interruption from 9:00 am to 00:00 am.

SAHBI SAHBI

Opening early November

SAHBI SAHBI, which means “soul mates” in Darija, is more than a restaurant, it is a meeting place for traditional Moroccan cuisine, run exclusively by women.

In Morocco, the kitchen is usually a hidden place, kept as a secret, which is the territory of the DADAS, these women who pass on their recipes from generation to generation. It is with this intention of sharing and transmission that guests are welcomed at SAHBI SAHBI, a notion that is also reflected in the configuration of the place itself. Here the secret is revealed, the kitchen opens onto the dining room, and is lived in its heart: for the first time here, making and know-how are shown.

We can thus witness the ballet of the cooks, concocting, serving and telling the story of traditional dishes such as the numerous tagines, the pastilla and the unchanging couscous which is also offered every Friday for lunch in three different versions depending on the cereal used, the most unusual of which is corn. The team is composed of a myriad of talents, regional know-how and houses. An approach as rich in atmosphere as the melting pot of its inhabitants.

The interior architecture is signed Studio KO echoes another know-how of excellence and is an ode to Moroccan craftsmanship, but here twisted, revisited to give it a breath of modernity. The space, warm and friendly, has been designed by reversing the paradigm of hidden Moroccan cuisine to make it the epicenter of restaurant life. Beauty comes in a subtle way: details, textures, plays of light and relief, natural tones and patterns tell us the story of freely reinterpreted traditional materials and know-how.

Located in the heart of the modern district of Guéliz, this address stands out for its authenticity. Behind the spectacular facade is an intimate universe, the promise of an immersive experience in traditional Moroccan cuisine, thought out collectively.
