The incredible duplex with a view over the rooftops of Venice
Palazzo Cristo-San Marco has just opened its doors between Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge. This former 15th century palace, now transformed into a luxury residence, offers an exclusive, delicious and relaxing Venetian experience. Anna Covre and Frederic Tubau de Cristo have planned, arranged, designed and furnished every space down to the finest detail.
With six spacious suites and a lush private garden, rare in Venice, Palazzo Cristo-San Marco is a luxurious and contemporary take on traditional Venetian accommodation, celebrating subtle luxury far from extravagance. The interior design is a blend of heritage and modernity, a harmonious fusion of Venetian influences and contemporary trends. On each floor, noble and durable materials such as wood, stone, marble and metal create a soothing, enveloping atmosphere, where bespoke furniture coexists with art editions, natural materials and authentic fabrics fashioned by the lagoon’s weavers.
At the top is Suite XI, an impressive 250 sqm duplex with loggia and altana roof terrace. On the third floor, this magnificent walk-through apartment covers 165 sqm hosts a private lift entrance that leads us to two ultra-comfortable double bedrooms, including a master suite with an XXL dressing room and a dream bathroom which includes an island bath and large walk-in shower.
Under the roof, the fourth floor opens onto a light-filled living area with a 35 sqm loggia overlooking the bell tower of San Marco’s Basilica, a sumptuous 50 sqm fully equipped state-of-the-art kitchen with exposed beams and an access to the panoramic terrace overlooking the city of Venice. The kitchen is ideal for entertaining and features a majestic solid wood dining table, a bespoke hood and a professional pink copper cooking station from Officine Gullo, specialists in luxury Italian artisan kitchens.
A secret address
Anna and Frederic have made discretion an essential value; every guest at Palazzo Cristo feels welcomed with personal attention. From the reception to the concierge service, the team is distinguished by its attentive service. To preserve the intimacy of the place and the anonymity of its guests, the address remains confidential until the final reservation is made.
During Venice’s major cultural events, Palazzo Cristo-San Marco is exclusively available on a fully booked basis and remains open for room reservations the rest of the year. The duplex is also available on request, but only as part of a full booking.
The Palazzo Cristo spirit
Founded in 2018 by Anna Covre and Frederic Tubau de Cristo, interior designers and owners, Palazzo Cristo now boasts two independent luxury palaces in the heart of Venice. Following the resounding success of Palazzo Cristo-Castello, their first project in Campo Santi Giovanni, Anna and Frederic have just opened the Palazzo Cristo-San Marco, a second exceptional residence ideally located between Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge.
Palazzo Cristo is part of the revival of luxury accommodation in Venice. Anna and Frederic are reviving architectural masterpieces in the city’s most beautiful locations, transforming them into extraordinary places to live. With each project, the duo puts craftsmanship back at the heart of their approach. This commitment aims to highlight the excellence of Venetian know-how and offer Palazzo Cristo guests the most authentic and elegant experience on the lagoon. «With Palazzo Cristo, our aim is to create a new type of accommodation that offers a luxurious, private and contemporary experience, anchored in local life» says Frederic.
With four apartment suites in the Palazzo Cristo-Castello and six in the newest Palazzo Cristo-San Marco, both palaces are destinations in themselves. Anna, born in Venice, and Frederic, from Paris, sensitively combine the sophistication of the great Parisian palaces with the authenticity of Italian villas. They blend their influences with elegance to create inspiring living spaces of ultimate refinement, where Venetian materials meet contemporary trends.
