The 2024 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2024) will feature the latest pioneering advanced air mobility (AAM) technologies prepared to enter the market, part of the event’s focus on driving sustainability across the global aviation industry and business aviation’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Taking place 28-30 May in Geneva, EBACE2024 will showcase leading AAM companies both in the Palexpo exhibit hall and outdoors, with a first-ever display of an AAM vehicle, VoltAero’s Cassio 330 electric-hybrid, at the event’s aircraft display at Geneva Airport.
Other featured innovators will include Beyond Aero’s ONE, the first electric business aircraft designed for hydrogen propulsion; the all-electric, vertical take-off and landing Lilium Jet; and Rotterdam-based ELECTRON, which manufactures a 100% battery-powered aircraft for regional use, and it is developing an all-electric cargo plane.
Additionally, EBACE2024 will also host Hydroplane Limited, a California company developing a modular hydrogen fuel cell for general aviation and AAM, and Vaeridion, which has developed highly efficient electric-powered “microliners” that it plans to begin operating before 2030.
In just the past few years, AAM technologies have advanced from vision to reality, putting the industry on course to deliver a new era of emissions-free flight. Several EBACE panels will feature CEOs and other industry experts with perspectives on growth projections for the sector, autonomous flight and AAM’s near-future role in public transit, ride-sharing and humanitarian missions.
Collaborating on a Sustainable Present and Future
EBACE also serves as an annual celebration of business aviation’s resilient present and exciting future – of the inspiring people, bold ideas and new markets propelling the industry forward, across Europe and around the globe.
This year’s Opening Keynote will welcome industry leaders and government officials working to create a more sustainable European aviation sector, beginning with Delphine Bachmann, an environmental advocate who is State Councilor, Department of Economy and Labor of the Republic and Canton of Geneva, home to Geneva Airport.
The keynote will also feature EUROCONTROL Director of Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre John Santurbano, who oversees air traffic in Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and northwest Germany. These pioneering officials will also discuss business aviation’s important roles in driving economic growth and providing critical lift to places that have little or no commercial airline service.
Also speaking at the keynote will be avid Swiss explorer, environmentalist and round-the-world hot air balloon and Solar Impulse 2 pilot Bertrand Piccard, who plans to next circumnavigate the globe in a hydrogen-powered airplane in 2028 – further highlighting the reality of aerial transport free from carbon emissions.
For the third year, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which has the potential to reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions from aviation by as much as 80% over traditional fuels, will also be available throughout the month at Geneva Airport – making EBACE2024 one of the most sustainable events in the industry.
Co-hosted by the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), EBACE2024 promises to be a thrilling showcase of a forward-looking, sustainability-focused industry. Readers of Business Air News are invited to Geneva to experience the excitement of EBACE firsthand.
