Design Shanghai is one of the world’s most prestigious international design events and Asia’s premier design event. Constantly breaking new ground, it has set a precedent in China’s ever-growing design community. It is an annual event that showcases some of the latest and most innovative design works across different industries such as furniture, lighting, and accessories. This year’s edition is to be held from the 8-11th June 2023 and will celebrate the 10th anniversary of this influential design event.
Taking place at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, this event is anticipated to attract an unprecedented number of visitors, designers and brands than previous years, with 600 local and international brands from 40 countries being showcased and over 70,000 visitors estimated to attend. The extensive programme of Features, Exhibitors and the Design Forum talks will bring together some of the most renowned designers, architects, and creative thinkers from around the world.
Design Shanghai showcases exceptional design, quality and inspiration, and provides a platform for established and exciting up-and-coming designers and brands from China and abroad, as well as renowned galleries. Features include WAD, neooold, the China Design Trend Report and Audi, the exclusive headline partner who will present the China premiere of the newly launched Audi activesphere concept.
Across Design Shanghai’s event portfolio the Forum programme has carved a reputation as the leading global platform for design thought leadership and one of the best attended and comprehensive seminar programmes in Asia, hosting presentations from world-renowned designers, such as Patricia Urquiola, Paola Navone, Tom Dixon, Chi Wing Lo and Philippe Starck. The Design Forum is designed to be an interactive platform that allows visitors to engage with designers and creative thinkers from around the world, there are also curated presentations from exhibitors on new and exceptional products, developments in design trends and insights into market directions. The series of seminars and panels brings together the world’s most pioneering minds,making it a unique platform for networking with Asia’s most influential design professionals. Expect talks this year from Adam Brinkworth, Frank Chou, Michael Young and Satoshi Ohashi, Director at Zaha Hadid Architects.
